FOSAMAX INFORMATIONFosamax, generically known as Alendronate falls in to the category of bisphosphonate drug and used for the treatment of osteoporosis, a disease of bone which reduces the mineral density of bone (BMD).Clinically proved to be effective enough for increasing the bone mass, fosamax (alendronate) can reduce the possibility of bone fracture. Alendronate can also be used for purposes other than the mentioned above.
SIDE EFFECTS OF FOSAMAXFosamax (Alendronate) like any other drug may have its side effects such as: ▪Trouble breathing ▪Pain in the back ▪Chest pain, joint pain ▪Swelling ▪Weakness ▪Gas, formation of acid Some of these side effects may not need special medical treatment. But it is suggested to consult your health care professional if these tend to be bothersome. Side effects excluding the above may also occur
Fosamax (Alendronate) is recommended to be taken along with plain water. Once taken, you should not lie down and drink or eat anything for at least 35 minutes. Talk to your doctor for all-inclusive information regarding the direction of use.
During the use of fosamax (alendronate) you may need a dosage adjustment if any of the following is applicable to you: ▪Vitamin D deficiency ▪Ulcer in stomach ▪Kidney and liver disorders. ▪Pregnancy or breast-feeding.
