YASMIN INFORMATION


Yasmin, generically named drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic progestin. It is used as a prevention of ovulation. Its efficiency lies in altering cervical mucous and uterine lining. It is held that yasmin can be effective in preventing the sperm to reach to the uterus.

SIDE EFFECTS OF YASMIN


Side effects of yasmin, which may occur are mentioned below:

▪Drowsiness, pain, fever

▪Clay-coloured stools

▪Dark urine

▪Migraine headaches

▪Changing mood, depression

▪Vaginal itching

▪A sudden change in menstrual periods

 

 

Do not take yasmin or seek special monitoring/dosage adjustment from your health expert if the following is applicable to you:

▪Liver and kidney disorders

▪Abnormal vaginal bleeding

▪Breast, uterine cancer

▪Migraine Headache 

 

 

Yasmin is meant to prevent pregnancy. While using yasmin, you might be required to use additional birth control facilities i.e. condom, spermicide etc. Talk to your doctor feely about all necessary precautions and measures to be taken along with yasmin.  The active ingredient of yasmin can cause defect to unborn baby. Thus it is strongly suggested not to take yasmin during pregnancy provided you are willing to give birth to a child.
